mouse not showing up? showing, mouse, not

for some reason, when i try to use a skin other than the default ones that come standard, my mouse pointer does not show up in the window. i can move my mouse pointer out of the window (when xbmc is windowed) and the mouse shows up on my desktop, but then i bring it back into the xbmc window and it disappears. any help?
